愛知学院大学教養部、教授。令和2年度より教養部長。専門分野は言語学、英語学で、特に選択体系機能言語学を研究している。現在この理論を用いた日英比較分析、英語教育へ応用を研究中。ICT技術への興味が深く、ICT技術を用いた英語教育でも実験的な試みを行っている。2022年より日本機能言語学会会長を務める。
Mac Sasaki is a professor, of the Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Aichi Gakuin University. He is currently Dean of the division. He teaches English and communication sciences.
Sasaki has been researching stylistic differences of texts, especially ones depending variable social contexts. The investigations are mainly based on the framework of the Systemic Functional Linguistics. He is eager to apply the functional approach to analyzing Japanese, too. He has been President of Japan Association of Systemic Functional Linguistics since 2022.
Mac Sasaki is also know as one of pioneers who applied iPad into language education in Japan.
